Derek joined the 40/29 team in August of 2002 and has enjoyed living and working in the area ever since. Beginning as a sports reporter in Fort Smith, Derek made the move to Northwest Arkansas in 2004 as the weekend sports anchor, and co-anchor of Sports Final.After six years of covering the Hogs, high schools and everything in between, the newest chapter of Derek's career at 40/29 is now underway. In October, 2008, Derek joined Melissa Kelly as co-anchor of the Sunrise show, helping viewers get their day off on the right foot.A native of Oklahoma City, Derek attended Westmoore High School and the University of Central Oklahoma. He spends the majority of his free time entertaining and spoiling his beautiful daughter Cambree. Other than family time, Derek can be found with a fishing rod in his hands, or on any one of the area's golf courses.
