Patrick Crawford, Meteorologist
Patrick is the newest member of the 40/29 Super Doppler Weather Team. Patrick joins 40/29 after being the Chief Meteorologist for the CBS Affiliate in Yuma, Arizona. Prior to being the Chief Meteorologist at KSWT, Patrick was the weekend meteorologist for the NBC affiliate in Rockford, Illinois.“I have always been a huge weather buff! I grew up in Plano, Texas and it was there I experienced what Mother Nature was capable of doing.” Patrick said. “I would always turn on the television to see what local meteorologists were saying about the weather. That’s when I realized I wanted to be a meteorologist.”Patrick graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL….the same University Chief Meteorologist Drew Michaels graduated from. There Patrick received his degree in Meteorology with a double minor in mathematics and geography. In college, Patrick worked as a student meteorologist for his college news station, NTC. “Northern Illinois was not only a great school to learn the science of meteorology, it was also a great school to learn the fundamentals of broadcasting.” Patrick said.
Patrick has been awarded the prestigious CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) weather seal from the American Meteorological Society. The CBM is the highest level of certification from the AMS, and involves academic requirements, on-air performance, a rigorous examination, and continuing education.In his free time Patrick enjoys reading and working out.
