40/29 News has expanded our Live Local Latebreaking news and weather coverage capabilities by opening a new state of the art station facility in Rogers. The 12,906 square foot all-digital facility enables 40/29 News to play a larger role in covering the communities throughout the expanding Northwest Arkansas and River Valley areas.

The new facility located off I-540 at "the Peaks" building in Rogers contains a state of the art studio, a digital control room and newsroom along with offices for sales, engineering and promotions.

"As long as we've been on the air, 40/29 News has been committed to covering Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley," said Jim Prestwood, 40/29 President & General Manager. "It is extremely important to us to continually upgrade our ability to cover news and weather to better serve our viewers. By upgrading our studios in Fort Smith, and by building a new studio and station in Rogers, 40/29 News now has the most modern and technologically advanced news gathering operation in the area."

40/29 News has also expanded our ability to cover severe weather in the area with the new expanded 40/29 SuperDoppler Weather Center. It's the most technologically advanced weather center in the area.

"This new digital facility gives our 40/29 SuperDoppler Storm Team of meteorologists the ability to use the most advanced weather technology to track storms throughout the viewing area and keep our viewers up to date with the most accurate and reliable forecasts" said News Director Mike Courington. "The new facility will give us a great new look but more importantly the 40/29 Weather Center will give our viewers faster and more accurate Live Local Latebreaking storm coverage."

40/29 was the first news station to broadcast in Northwest Arkansas and is now celebrating its 30th anniversary serving the area, including its 20th year with the distinctive call letters KHOG.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Are you leaving Fort Smith or Fayetteville? No! We are committed to covering the entire River Valley and all of Northwest Arkansas with award-winning news, weather and sports coverage. This station project extends that commitment into the future. We will now have newsrooms and live capabilities from Fort Smith, Fayetteville and Rogers.

Why is the new station in Rogers? "Building a TV station is a complicated process, and there are many reasons we located it at The Peaks," 40/29 President/General Manager Jim Prestwood said. "But guiding every decision we made was the overall question, 'What will help us serve our viewers best?'"

How is your new weather center able to provide more accurate and reliable forecasts? New faster digital technology, upgraded weather computers, advanced Doppler radar and a team of meteorologists who work around the clock monitoring weather conditions from our new facility.

Does this mean a change in where I see 40/29? No. Our transmitters are not moving, and 40/29 is not changing channel numbers on broadcast, cable, digital or satellite.

Will I see a difference in 40/29 News? The anchors will deliver news, weather and sports from an all-new custom-built set. And there is new technical equipment behind the scenes as well. So the area's best newscast will look and sound even better.

Who built the new news & weather sets? The 40/29 News management team co-designed the sets and they were built by FX Design Group to our rigorous specifications.
