FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Many undecided voters across the area watched the second presidential debate Tuesday night to try to make a decision on who will win their vote.A group of undecided voters held a watch party Tuesday night in Fayetteville. On the University of Arkansas campus, first time voters watched the debate in the residence halls all hoping tonight's debate will bring them closer to a decision.
At Pomphret Hall, a group of college freshmen had their eyes glued to the TV set as Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain faced off for a second time. While some in this group have already made up their minds as to who they're going to vote for in the election, those still torn between the two candidates looked to Tuesday's debate for answers -- answers with the economy, foreign policy and education. At the watch party, many of the young voters favored Obama and nationally, that view has carried out in the polls.Although McCain trailed behind, the young voters said the town-hall style debate gave him an advantage. But as for who they're voting for, it's still a toss up."I'm currently leaning towards McCain," said Jesse Shulte."Right now, I'm sort of leaning toward Obama," said Sarah Colpitts."I'd say, it's like 60/40 McCain. He elaborated a little more than Obama. Obama still kind of saying the vague stuff. He's a very eloquent speaker, but he's not going into specifics," said Kevin Pritt.Although most of them said McCain won the debate, they said it doesn’t mean Tuesday's results will dictate their votes. Many said they will wait until the last debate to make their final decision.
