Transit Workers Planning Possible Route Changes

New Route Would Loop To Pavilion Shopping Center

UPDATED: 7:54 pm CDT October 6, 2008

As more stores open in the Fort Smith Pavilion shopping center, the transit department is considering a change to better serve shoppers.

Right now, the Fort Smith bus route travels along Zero Street and loops north on Greenwood Road.

Transit officials have suggested rerouting that bus north on 31st Street and east on Phoenix Road, up to the shopping center.

If approved the new route would begin Nov. 3.
