Tyson, Dynamic Fuels To Create Fuel From Animal Fats

Syntroleum and Tyson Foods have a joint project called Dynamic Fuels in which Syntroleum will take low-cost animal fats and greases and turn them into diesel fuel.

Tulsa-based Syntroleum Corporation says regulators in Louisiana have approved $100 million in bonds to pay for construction of a synthetic fuels plant.

The plant is to be built in Geismar, Louisiana, with production expected to begin in early 2010.

The bonds are tax-exempt and come from 2005 legislation designed to help rebuild economies devastated by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
