POSTED: 5:07 pm CDT October 4, 2008

(Sports Network) - Tim Tebow threw two touchdowns and Jeffrey Demps ran for a pair, as the 12th-ranked Florida Gators pounded the Arkansas Razorbacks, 38-7.

Tebow completed 17-of-26 passes for 217 yards with one interception for Florida (4-1, 2-1 SEC), which was coming off a painful loss to Ole Miss. Chris Rainey rushed for 103 yards and one score on 10 carries, while Demps gained 103 yards on the ground as well. Louis Murphy led the Gators receivers with 70 yards on five receptions.

"We are far from a finished product," said Florida head coach Urban Meyer.

Casey Dick completed 24-of-38 passes for 220 yards with one interception for the Razorbacks (2-3, 0-2). Michael Smith accumulated 133 yards rushing, 43 yards through the air on six grabs and scored Arkansas' lone touchdown. Joe Adams caught five passes for 68 yards.

"We tackled Tebow well and we really hit him," said Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino. "I think that the defense did well. They put us in a situation to have an opportunity to win."

Florida opened the scoring in the first quarter when Tebow flipped a shovel pass to Brandon James for a two-yard TD. The score followed a critical fourth- and-one conversion deep in Arkansas territory. Demps' 36-yard TD run gave the Gators a 14-0 lead at halftime.

Following the break, Florida's Jonathan Phillips booted a 37-yard field goal, but Smith's six-yard scamper into the end zone trimmed the Arkansas deficit to 10 with 5:50 remaining in the third quarter.

Jerry Franklin then picked off Tebow in the late stages of the stanza, snapping the Heisman Trophy winner's streak of 203 passes without an interception. However, the Florida defense held, and Tebow recovered to guide the Gators on a six-play, 83-yard drive that culminated with his 21-yard strike to Percy Harvin.

Later in the fourth quarter, Rainey broke off a 75-yard TD run, and Demps completed the scoring with a 48-yard run with 64 seconds remaining in the game.
