Arkansas State Set To Name Brady New Hoops Coach

POSTED: 12:35 pm CDT March 18, 2008

(Sports Network) - Arkansas State is expected to name former LSU coach John Brady as its new men's basketball coach on Wednesday.

The school scheduled a noon (et) press conference to announce the hiring.

Multiple media sources, including the ABC affiliate in Metairie, Louisiana, reported that Brady has agreed to take over the program.

Brady was fired by LSU in early February, less than two years after leading the Tigers to the Final Four. He was 8-13 this season and just 1-6 in the SEC when he was dismissed.

Dickey Nutt resigned as head coach of ASU in March after 13 seasons. The Indians finished 10-20 overall and 5-13 in the Sun Belt conference this season.
